The International Rescue Committee (IRC), one of the largest humanitarian agencies in the world, providing relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict reconstruction support to victims of oppression and violent conflict, is seeking a Finance Controller in Chad.

The Finance Controller is responsible for controllership of finance by ensuring that all policies and procedures are in compliance with IRC and funding source policies, procedures, and requirements. They establish finance and supporting function policies, systems and procedures, and directs or performs their development, documentation, and implementation. They manage the finance department activities and schedules to meet the financial reporting requirements and deadlines specified by IRC Headquarters and donors and closely monitor all financial activities while keeping the Country Director advised of all situations which have the potential for a negative impact on internal
controls or financial performance. The Finance controller directs the preparation of, and approves all donor financial reports in respect to accounting, legal and contractual requirements and ensures the review of such reports by the Country Director and Regional Controller prior to submission.

The Finance Controller is responsible for training and staff management as well as the treasury and the budget.

REQUIREMENTS for this job include: a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance with a recognized professional certificate in accounting or a Master’s Degree in Business or Accounting, at least three years experience working with non-profit organizations, knowledge of US Government, United Nations and ECHO regulations preferred, proficiency in MS Office, fluency in
English and in French, possesses leadership qualities and is willing to exercise initiative
and has the willingness to participate and contribute as a team member.
