Responsibilities:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager will be responsible for ensuring that project M&E is conducted in accordance with the project’s Performance Monitoring Plan, developing appropriate and participatory monitoring and evaluation systems and tools for project activities both at national and regional levels, ensuring (in collaboration with DCOP and sector specialists) that accurate up-to-date monitoring data is included in all project documents, supervising other M&E staff, conducting rapid assessments and analysis of field-based programs to monitor program activity, providing technical support in M&E system strengthening with stakeholders, developing and implementing a program-wide M&E database system, and preparing a M&E manual that can be used at regional and head offices. S/he will also be actively involved in promoting learning through documentation of lessons learned and developing approaches for community analysis and utilization of data for decision making.
Qualifications:
Interested candidates should possess the following qualifications: Master’s degree in Statistics/ Social Sciences/ Education or other relevant field; minimum of seven years of experience in research, monitoring and evaluation, and related activities; knowledge of statistical applications, M&E procedures and relevant computer software; strong computer, analytical and organizational skills; proven initiative and ability to work independently and in a team setting; willingness to travel within Ethiopia; experience in report writing; excellent written and spoken English
Desired Qualifications:
Strong candidates will also have knowledge of USAID regulations; understanding of Ethiopia’s education sector, planning and management, and education issues.
