Responsibilities:
The Finance Director will assist the COP and DCOP with overall financial oversight for the project. This includes: ensuring the project is abiding by USAID contract regulations; supervising finance managers in Addis Ababa and at field offices; regularly coordinating internal audits of field offices; reconciling financial reports with field office records; co-signing cheques of the Addis Ababa Office; handling any communication or correspondence with the regional offices on finance issues; checking monthly payroll and payroll journals; monitoring the cash liquidity position of the project and determining the monthly cash requirement for the offices and comparing them with the field office requests; checking monthly financial reports; preparing budget monitoring and other reports for internal management purposes; preparing accrual and pipeline reports; and ensuring that disbursements are made within the limit of the approved budget. This position will work directly with the home office to ensure that all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to as well as those regulations required by USAID.

Qualifications:
Interested candidates should possess the following qualifications: Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university; a minimum of eight years financial management experience; strong background in computer applications (i.e. Peachtree, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access); proficiency in spoken and written English; ability to function in a team setting.

Desired Qualifications:
Strong candidates will also have prior financial management experience on international development projects, and knowledge of USAID regulations.
