NOI Polls (www.noi-polls.com) is an opinion research firm based in Abuja, Nigeria. The firm aims at developing domestic Capacity in Nigeria to support independent opinion polling using modern survey tools as developed by Gallup Polls (USA). The research output of NOI Polls is intended to provide increased voice for ordinary Nigerian citizens and contribute to strengthening transparency and accountability in the country.
The main product of the firm is currently the Nigerian NOI Poll, which is a detailed socio-economic survey of wellbeing in Nigeria. Additional products include targeted opinion research (for private and public institutions) as well as a business confidence survey for Nigeria. Technical support for conducting our surveys is obtained from Gallup (USA).
NOI Polls wishes to recruit a senior research associate to join our team in August 2008. The senior research associate will play a key role in the design and analysis of surveys, and also in the presentation of results from our opinion research. He/She will work in close collaboration with the Research Director and under the overall direction of the CEO of NOI Polls. Main duties are summarized below.
1. To serve as team leader of projects (e.g. niche consulting projects, annual surveys, business confidence surveys, snap polls etc) to be conducted by NOI Polls.
He/She will work closely with analysts at Gallup (USA) in analyzing survey data collected by NOI Polls.
2. To prepare report summaries of survey data which will be communicated to various audiences such as clients of NOI Polls, senior government officials in Nigeria, as well as to the general public.
The ideal candidate will have a strong undergraduate background in Economics or Mathematics or Statistics or a related discipline, and a graduate degree. He/She may also have acquired about 2-3 years work experience, perhaps in the financial sector or in a consulting environment. Remuneration is very attractive, and the position provides opportunities for further training with Gallup (USA).
