ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking short term grain/ rice technical experts for a 4-year project in West Africa.
The position will start as early as July and will last 3 to 4 weeks. The Agribusiness and Trade Promotion (ATP) program’s primary objective is to
increase the value and volume of intra-regional agricultural trade in West Africa in order to contribute to achieving the 6 percent agricultural growth target set under the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP) of the African Union’s New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AU-NEPAD). For 45 years and in 145 countries, ACDI/VOCA has empowered people in developing and transitional nations to succeed in the global economy. Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agribusiness systems, financial services, enterprise development and community development in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 80 projects in 46 countries and revenues of $90 million. Responsibilities: Provide technical support to strengthen and develop value chains related to grains, particularly rice.
QUALIFICATIONS: minimum of five years of practical experience with grains/ rice required. Experience in warehouse receipts a plus. Degree in related field(s) required. Regional experience required. Fluency in French language required. Knowledge of
