PCI is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation (MED) Officer, based in Babati, Tanzania, to provide monitoring, evaluation and documentation expertise and leadership to the Babati Health Through Water & Sanitation (BAHEWASA) Project. This 3 year project is being funded by Starbucks/Ethos Water and implemented in partnership with ADRA/Tanzania and WaterAid/Tanzania. PCI is a global health and development organization, founded in 1961, headquartered in San Diego, California, USA, and working in 13 developing countries, including 5 in Africa. In partnership with other senior program staff, the MED Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing all M&E and documentation plans, systems and tools; ensuring programmatic quality; and utilizing M&E information for decision making and to improve programmatic performance.

The MED Officer will work to ensure the timeliness and quality of all project reports; lead the monitoring of program progress; oversee the evaluation of program impacts; and ensure the documentation of results, lessons learned and best/ promising practices. The MED will provide technical support and training on M&E and documentation and will serve as a core member of the senior leadership team of the project. The MED Officer will also serve as PCI’s representative in Tanzania and, as such, may be asked to represent PCI at key meetings and events that are not directly related to the BAHEWASA Project, including travel to Arusha or Dar es Saalam.

REQUIREMENTS: MPH or equivalent advanced degree; at least 5 years relevant professional experience, including specific MED expertise and experience with water and sanitation programming; excellent data management and communications skills, both written and verbal; and fluency in English and Swahili.
