ARD, Inc. (http://www.ardinc.com) is accepting expressions of interest from highly qualified Chief of Party candidates for an anticipated USAID-funded health project in Ethiopia. The project is designed to expand urban agriculture opportunities and improve the nutritional and food security status of households affected by or living with HIV/AIDS, particularly those headed by women and orphans. Responsibilities include: provide technical direction and management oversight for project activities, supervise technical and administrative staff, and liaise with high-level USAID and host-government officials, partners, and donors.
REQUIREMENTS:
University degree in community development, public health, agriculture or related fields; an additional management degree will be of advantage. Expertise in one or more of the following technical areas: micro-irrigation and household-level gardening techniques, identification and development of local agriculture markets, HIV/AIDS food and nutrition programming, HIV/AIDS care and treatment service networks, monitoring and evaluation, training, local NGO capacity building, and grants management. 10 years of professional experience in managing or working with Local NGO/CSOs including capacity training, grants management, and monitoring and evaluation including at least three years in a management capacity. Good leadership/ mentoring capacity, proven management and organizational skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as social sensitivity. Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment. Working experience throughout Ethiopia. Working experience with USAID funded programs would be an asset. Excellent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet and power point. Excellent command of Amharic and English (written and spoken).
